Hacking self-love
Self-care and self-love may seem like obvious things to do for yourself, but they’re not always easy. Even when you spend your days caring for other people, remembering to give yourself that same attention can take practice.
As an angel healer and hairdresser, beauty is part of how I care for people—and myself. The texture, the fragrance, the small act of applying something with care. These are three of my favorite products that make that feel a little easier.
Three Products That Make Me Feel Loved and Cared For
Blu + Green Weekly Repair Mask
A little care for my crown. This concentrated hair mask helps leave hair stronger, softer and more flexible. You leave it on for five to ten minutes, giving yourself a small window of time for care.
Its essential oil blend features juniper, bergamot, rosemary and clary sage. Herbal, fresh and grounding—the kind of scent that makes an ordinary shower feel like a ritual.
OSEA Undaria Algae Body Butter
This is the hug. Rich, whipped shea butter, Undaria seaweed and ceramides help deeply moisturize skin and support its moisture barrier.
The fragrance brings together grapefruit, lime and cypress with sweet mango-mandarin notes. Fresh citrus paired with that creamy texture makes taking care of my body feel like something to enjoy.
RŌZ Milk Hair Serum
Softness for my angel hair. This lightweight leave-in conditioner hydrates and smooths frizz without weighing hair down. You can use it on damp hair before air-drying or styling, or on dry hair for a little refresh.
RŌZ describes the fragrance as inspired by a California garden, with bergamot, fig and neroli blossom, plus subtle vetiver and citron. A little garden to carry with you.
These are small things, but sometimes a small thing makes it easier to begin. A few minutes with a hair mask. Taking time to put on body butter. Giving my hair a little softness.
I spend a lot of time offering care. These are some of the ways I remember to receive it, too.

THE ANALOG ARCHIVE
MTV NEWS REPORTING FROM CHICAGO ILLINOIS 1993 CONSUMER ELECTRONCS SHOW
ThE ANALOG ARCHIVE is a Peek into our gen-x archive of personal teen artifacts: the artwork, design, words and analog details that made music feel tactile, personal and worth spending time with. A reminder of a time when taking something in meant choosing to slow down and look a little closer.
There was a time when discovering music meant getting lost in the details.
A CD booklet or cassette sleeve could hold an entire little world: photographs, artwork, lyrics, credits, thank-yous, weird fonts, tiny bits of information you didn’t know you were looking for. You’d put the album on and read the whole thing while you listened—because there was nothing else competing for your attention.
The music came with an object, and the object invited you to linger.
September 15, 1995, Hackers hit theaters and gave us one of the most iconic cyber-cult movies of the ’90s. first angelina jolie made us question our sexuality. then the soundtrack made us question why we weren’t already dancing in a warehouse at 3am.
Hackers opened a portal into a whole new world of cyberculture, club culture, and dance music. suddenly sexuality, technology, and a killer soundtrack were all happening at 140 bpm.
